CASA Berks County celebrated the power of advocacy at its first Annual Gala of Light on September 16, 2023.

It was an unforgettable evening filled with inspiration, great food nd great art, along with the power of community. Held at Building 24, over 100 artists, court personnel, child advocates, the business community, and neighbors came together to shine a light on the importance of advocating for the most vulnerable members of our society – children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Many thanks to our
event sponsors for making
this evening possible.

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Berks Art Alliance for their generous donation of stunning works of art to CASA Berks First Annual Gala of Light! Your support will truly make a difference in the lives of children in need. The beautiful pieces donated by the Berks Art Alliance not only added a touch of elegance to our Gala of Light but also served as a reminder of the power of art to inspire and uplift.

We were honored to showcase these incredible creations and share them with our community. The contributing artists were Edward Babiarz, Irene Dobson,  Jane de Gruchy, Charlene Job, Trudy Moore, Fran Parzanese, Barbara Post, Jay Ressler, Martha Ressler, and Donna Unger.

State Representative Mark Rozzi

State Rep. Mark Rozzi

CASA Berks County honored State Representative Mark Rozzi with our Champion of Light award. Representative Mark Rozzi was selected for the Champion of Light award for his passionate efforts to pass a constitutional amendment that would give victims of sexual abuse more options to sue their abusers. Mark Rozzi received the award at the CASA of Berks County Annual Gala.

Mark Rozzi gifted the Gala with an oil painting of a red heart climbing out of darkness. Rozzi told the crowd that the painting was a traumatized heart slowly rising to awareness and justice.
